Rain yesterday and Today in Northern California

It is fairly unusual for where I live in Northern California on the coast to get rain this late in the year unless it is in the form of fog drizzle off the ocean. However, weather has not been normal anywhere on earth since before 2000 either. With 1100 or more people yesterday dying of the heat in India this week and the north pole melting out last December I think we all can say the weather won't be normal anytime soon anywhere.

It snowed in the Sierras and Southern Cascades as well. Even in Mt. Shasta my friends said it snowed there even in town but didn't stick there but did at a little higher elevations.

The weather system is still doing a reverse spiral (counterclockwise from Idaho to Canada to Portland and down to San Francisco and it is still snowing right now in Southern Oregon.

A lot of temperatures from Montana to Idaho to California to Washington, Oregon and Nevada in the 20s to 40s Fahrenheit which is why there is also snow some places especially in the altitudes above about 4000 feet.
