This is lower falls to the right by road of Hiway 89
This is middle falls which is the tallest falls. In 1977 in my 20s I used to jump with friends off the cliffs here into the water for fun. But, remember the water even in summer is 39 degrees and you have to look for a deep enough hole that is safe to jump in. Test the place you are going to jump in to make sure it is safe first. And also this was 1977 when you had to get scratched by manzinita bushes (ironwood) and climb down a cliff to get there. Now there is a trail along lower, middle and upper falls from where this picture was taken.
This is the upper falls on the McCloud River.
This is above the upper falls in winter and spring the water slowly over thousands of years cut these round places and pools in the rocks right above upper falls. I thought this was amazing what water can do to rock given enough time.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
