Strangely enough, the problem isn't guns. The problem actually is what is happening in our culture not only here but worldwide at this time.
When I was growing up people were much much more violent than today. But, the difference was we were physically violent not gun violent. It takes a lot more to kill someone with your bare hands or with a knife. A Gun is like playing a video game where children and adults often have killed 1000s of people already in their video games. So, for people having killed an infinite amount of people in video games there might be no difference at all in actually killing 1 or 20 or 100 or 500 people. This is one of the differences.
So, though in the 1950s and 1960s we might break each other's heads or break hands or arms we wouldn't actually kill each other very much.
What the difference? many of you might say.
The difference is how much we have dehumanized each other and become soul less beings. If you believe in God you don't kill others because they are children of God and you know this and every part of life is sacred.
But now, partly because of Islamic Terrorism less people believe in God every day in the U.S. because young people think: "If Islamic Terrorism is what happens to you when you believe in God I can do without that!"
And this kind of thinking is very prevalent in High schools and Colleges now across our nation.
But, if people are not all children of God then in some people's minds they are just animals. And in this state of mind shooting people like animals becomes okay in the minds of some people.
So, in the end it is not at all about the guns it is about the states of consciousness that have changed inside people where all life is no longer sacred. And this is the reason people who no longer feel we are children of God and only animals and feel they are animals too can kill without limit. Because it doesn't matter who dies including themselves.
And this is only increasing for some people around the world. And this is why you are going to see killings in churches and and schools and concerts without limit now not just in the U.S. but also across Europe and other places all over the world.
If people don't want to believe in God or Buddha or kindness towards themselves and all other beings this will just increase in intensity and frequency until we are all dead or extinct.
This is just a logical and pragmatic fact of life.
note: Two days later:
There is a post apocalyptic movie called "The Book of Eli" starring Denzel Washington and Mila Kunis which demonstrates a lot of this as he walks the post apocalyptic America with a big leather bound Bible in his back pack.
Gary Oldman plays a bad guy in this and says something like: "You've got to give me that book so I can control everyone's minds with it and Denzel walks away because he knows the Gary Oldman Character is only going to use the Bible to control people and enslave them like ancient Kings and Potentates did too.
This movie was on when I returned from Santa Fe. Normally postapocalyptic films are just too dark for me. But, this one is so well written I likely will watch the whole thing eventually in 15 to 20 minute bursts over a day or a week or so when it suits me so I can experience the positive parts of it without feeling harmed by the movie.
As I grow older I'm much more careful what I watch than when I was young because I know how much what we watch affects our subconscious minds.
So, for us to have a more positive effect on all those around us and so angels can literally be around us all the time (or most of the time) we have to think about what we are actually doing 24 hours a day.
By God's Grace.
Once again it is not about the guns at all. It is about the people who pick up those guns and who use them. If they didn't have a gun or find a gun they would use a knife, a club or a bomb. To think they aren't going to do this is to be very stupid. The problem is you don't know who is going to do what until they actually do it.
Because for everyone who does this there are 10,000 who didn't do this but wanted to but were self disciplined or prayed and didn't and thank God for all the ones who didn't (at least that day).
The problem of guards and metal detectors at schools. A Guard is NOT going to stop schols being shot up or any other place. If a person wants to shoot up a school or church or concert you just need armed people there to shoot back so less lives are lost. In this case the guy set off the fire alarm so he would have access to more kids in the hallways. But, even if there was an armed guard with a metal detector what would have stopped him from breaking a window into a classroom and start shooting them up there and then moving into a hallway?
If someone wants to do something like this the ONLY way to stop it would be other armed people to shoot back like teachers or in churches armed ushers or at concerts armed guards who could shoot back. And in the vicinity of a concert like the one in Las Vegas there should be at least one sniper rifle to shoot back at the sniper it this ever happens again.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
