Freddy the Pig and Gub Gub are from two different authors

As an 8 or 9 year old child I combined these two authors in my mind I realized today. Gub Gub appears to be Hugh Lofting's (writer of Dr. Dolittle) character who is also a pig? I think. And then Freddy the Pig is by Walter R. Brooks who wrote about him until 1958.

Hugh Lofting lived until 1947  and was a British Author and Walter R. Brooks lived until 1958 and was an American author who lived until 1958 and lived in Rome, New York.
