My daughter has been talking about the Bright Line diet for at least 6 months now. Since she is now visiting we are doing this diet together. She is doing a maintenance version because she is in perfect condition. Since I had a health scare last week caused by a hernia which was caused by an emergency Burst appendix laparoscopic surgery in 2015 I'm beginning to see the wisdom of this diet.
First of all (no flours) which means no flour of any kind including wheat, rice or anything else ground into a powder you are not eating simply because the refining process can cause certain food addictions in your brain which can interfere with successful dieting and losing weight and maintaining weight loss.
(The other advantage of this is that not only are you gluten free you are all flour free which means if you are between 40 and 100 years of age that your pain in your muscles caused by gluten flour is going or gone away too (when you are doing this diet for either weight loss or health maintenance) long term. My daughter was telling me how even pregnant mothers do this diet to keep their diets in balance while pregnant so they don't gain too much weight during pregnancy so it is easier to lose the weight after pregnancy.
Also, my daughter says that she intends to use this diet for health maintenance for the next 10 years or more because it is presently the most scientific of all the diets she has found so far in keeping the exact things you need to be eating to keep your body vital and healthy ongoing throughout your life as well.
So far, I have lost 5 pounds since Saturday. You see, your body has to have the right nutrients in order to give up the weight. Otherwise, your body thinks it is starving and won't give up the weight. So, you will be amazed at how much you are actually eating in this program. But, it is very scientific too. You have to plan exactly what you are going to eat the night before. This keeps you from binge eating spontaneously which puts the wrong things in your body and then your body thinks it is starving.
So, in order to even lose weight at all you have to "trick" your body by giving it enough nutrients so it doesn't think it's starving so it will give up weight. Unless your body thinks it has the right nutrients it will never give up weight.
Then later on when you get to a weight you want to be you then use this diet ongoing for maintenance of your perfect weight and health ongoing. So, from my daughter's point of view she could theoretically use this diet the rest of her life to maintain a perfect weight. And if you add fitness workouts then you could stay fit past 100 theoretically.
Also, even though I'm pre-diabetic this diet so far is working for me blood sugar wise. But, if you have any blood sugar issues ask your doctor maybe before doing this bright line diet.
