I started blogging in 1999 after I was forced to retire from a heart virus and kept blogging until now. I have found it useful both to me (as a discipline or meditation) and useful to others because I can compile things or write things that I find useful to myself and many others around the world. It's sort of like seeing the whole world as your family that you want to survive and to succeed in life. That's how I experience it as a blogger. So, as you help others better survive their lives by the information you share with them your blog tends to grow over time. This has been my experience too since 1999.
Though I no longer have my first blog, I started 2 new blogs in 2007 in the fall that I still run now, this one and dragonofcompassion.com which is with yahoo business in which I put longer things that I write than just one page articles.
So, if you are retiring soon and like to write and do research on various subjects you might consider starting a blog yourselves now or in the future.
Have a Great Day!
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
