Where I am on the northern coast of California it's really beautiful at about 80 degrees as of 3:30pm PT right now. However, go 20 or 30 miles inland to the Sacramento and San Joaquin Valleys and you see what that is like right here where 33 intersects with Interstate 5 out in the Valley where temperatures have been over 105 degrees likely mostly for the last 7 days. Where I am it feels more like Hawaii here than anything else and the ocean is beautiful like there too right now here. Although the ocean temperature is only 61.3 degrees Fahrenheit even in the heat of summer. In the winter ocean temperatures are about 57 degrees or around there and this on the surface because deeper it's going to be colder than that. So, during winter storms getting caught by a rogue wave without a wet suit is often fatal for the inexperienced accidental swimmer trying to survive. Because 57 degrees is only survivable under most conditions for 10 or 15 minutes without a wet or dry suit to hold body heat.
