Navy F-18 Crashes in Virginia Beach, Virginia
Something obviously happened like a flame out or other mechanical or electronic problems close to the ground. The pilot was dumping fuel at about 100 feet from the ground to lessen the explosion when it hit. When the pilot ejected there was not time to separate from his seat. An emergency worker found the pilot in shock still attached to his seat but still alive and probably okay. The plane then crashed into the apartment complex. The two pilots were taken to the hospital. Though the crash and fires destroyed several apartment buildings it appears that no one has been reported dead at this point. I am presently watching this reporting live on CNN TV.
