I heard someone on NBC news say that organic food is no more nutritious than foods sprayed with pesticide. Duh!
What a crazy thing to say. People aren't buying organic foods for them to be more nutritious they are buying them because they don't want their families poisoned by pesticides that are proven to cause cancers and to cause neurological damage. All food grown likely will be equally nutritious as long as the seeds and the soil and the weather is good. So, when someone says organic food is no more nutritious than foods soaked with pesticides or herbicides I have to think: Just how stupid do they think people are?
Also, by buying organic foods you are helping farm workers stay alive who die at increasing rates from spraying the foods with pesticides and herbicides and whose children often are ill or born with deformities caused by being exposed to pesticides. By the time you actually buy this food it is much less dangerous than if you worked in the fields with it or had to spray it. So, by buying organic you are saving both farm workers and their children from awful illnesses and deaths and you are also protecting yourselves and your children from neurological damage and cancers.

What I realized after talking to my wife might be really helpful for you is to relay to you what fruits and vegetables really aren't safe to eat if sprayed because the spray goes right into the meat of the fruit or vegetable. So, because of this you CANNOT wash the pesticide off no matter what you do with these things. So, the top list is what you Must buy organic if you don't want to ingest pesticide into your bodies and the 2nd list is what you might get away with not buying organic.
Celery
Peaches
Strawberries
Nectarines
Apples
Blueberries
Bell Peppers
Spinach
Cherries
Kale/Collard Greens
Potatoes
Grapes (imported)
The above fruits and veggies have
the highest levels of pesticides left no matter whether you wash them or not because it actually goes right inside the fruit or vegetable so it cannot be washed off.
The lowest levels of pesticide residue are the following veggies and fruits:
Onions
avocados
Sweet Corn
Pineapples
Mangoes
Sweet Peas
Asparagus
Kiwis
Cabbage
Eggplant
Cataloupes
Watermelons
Grapefruits
Sweet Potatoes
Honeydew Melons
Hopefully this is helpful if you cannot afford to buy all organic all the time.

I also realized in regard to some grains like Corn or soybeans for example, if those seeds are genetically engineered by companies like Monsanto, one of their corn seeds is registered as an insecticide. What this means is that if an insect eats this corn it dies because the corn grain IS registered as insecticide. So, if you eat this corn (which is now much if not most corn in the U.S.) you are eating insecticide because it is designed right into the germ (nucleus) of every grain of corn. Monsanto also sells genetically engineered soybeans and wheat seeds as well.
What I worry about is what happens when you take insecticide registered monsanto corn and you feed it to pigs and chickens and the insecticide concentrates in the flesh of chickens and pigs and cows that are then consumed by humans? It is bad enough when people eat the grains themselves. It is likely 100 times or more worse when it concentrates into flesh that is eaten by humans.
