A peaceful people opposed to violence and bloodshed, Yazidis believe
that no cause is worth killing people for, something that scandalizes
fanatical Muslims who regard the spread of “The Only True Faith” by
sword as a duty and the man who does it as the “Ghazi” (Holy Warrior)
who is assured a place in paradise.

If someone believes it is their duty fervently to kill anyone who doesn't believe the way that they do in the U.S. we would classify that person as criminally insane. Most western countries legal systems are this way too. International law is this way too. So, the UN would have this position too. NATO too.
So, it is a given that ISIS's days are numbered. However, it could be years before ISIS is gone or even back to a status like Al Qaeda's once again.
The other really strange thing I have been reading about is that it is a given that there eventually likely will be a war between Al Qaeda and ISIS for power. Many say this is inevitable. It might be going on right now and we just aren't aware of it yet through the news in a direct way. However, if you carefully follow battles Al Qaeda groups have been fighting ISIS ongoing for power ever since Al Qaeda disavowed ISIS for cruelty during the last 12 months.
