If you don't have Starz channel on TV this is the only way so far to watch the pilot episode without getting Starz. My wife read the entire series and loved it by Diana Gabaldon. I think it is 7 to 9 books total if you read the whole thing and she loved it.
It is about a nurse during the 2nd World War just after it ends being sent through standing stones into the 1700s  like Stonehenge only in Scotland around Inverness in northern Scotland.
I've been there and Inverness is right next to Loch Ness and all those legends too. I had a friend who was a Catholic priest and got it to embrace a particular standing stone and it sent him unconscious for some time and he used to talk about how amazing this was and there are folk legends about people time traveling around standing stones too. So, whether you believe all that is possible or not is up to you. But, what happens to her isn't entirely unheard of because sometimes people disappear around standing stones even today. There are standing stones in France and England and Scotland and possibly Ireland too. I've seen many of them in England and seen some at a distance in Scotland.

I have walked through some of the standing stones in England that you can still walk through in more remote areas where you are allowed to walk among the sheep that usually graze around them and touched them too. It is a very amazing experience to be there and touch the standing stones and realize that they have been there for thousands of years already from an ancient civilization.
