The right answer likely would be: "Maybe"
Maliki is more like a de facto Army General sort of like a Shia version of SISI in Egypt who created a coup and overthrew the Muslim Brotherhood government in the last couple of years.
So, like I said, "Maybe" is the right answer here.
Maliki is an Iranian Puppet and if Iran is pulling the strings here the most likely outcome could be a Maliki coup.
The reason for this would be for Iran to take over some or all of Iraq for Iran.
The problem with this is that Iraq is not all Shia like Iran.
The west and the North are Sunni and then Kurdish, Christian and Yazidi and other minorities.
So, if Maliki does a coup and takes over the whole government like a Dictator (sort of like Qadaffi or someone like that) then hundreds of thousands likely will die in the north.
Also, if Maliki does this it is really likely that Sunnis and ISIL will blow up the dams and kill millions of people in Baghdad and Basra in the near future.
As everyone says and I completely agree, the only way to save 1/2 million lives or more in Iraq at this point is to have a coalition government of Sunnis, Shias, Christians and all other minorities represented.
However, likely Kurdistan is now going to become it's own country because of many different factors. Even Turkey supports this because it will keep ISIS out of Turkey and to some degree Iran would support a Kurdistan because at least where Kurdistan is they would keep ISIS out of Iran.
Because ISIS would love to kill every Iranian right now.
