Ben-Hur (2016)

The Critics didn't seem to like this movie but my wife and I loved it. The characters aren't as developed as the original with Charlton Heston and the English Accents at times might be hard to understand, but over all this movie in some ways I even like better than the first one, especially in how Massalla the adopted Roman Centurian son is treated at the end. It is an amazing story whether you see the original or the new one. In some ways it reminds me also of my own life and trials and tribulations. I think adulthood is almost never what any of us expect, especially if we have good childhoods like I did or Ben Hur did in this movie. So, sometimes adulthood is a tremendous shock that many of us don't survive. But, I'm lucky in that I survived mine even though I watched many friends die or go crazy first and then die or just become numb to the world and somehow plod through it. So, this movie in this sense is a lesson to us all in regard to compassion towards oneself and others.

It is also important to understand this is also a movie about Jesus and his teachings. So, expect to see Jesus sometimes in this movie.
