Hillary Clinton says 'no' to Mexico invite after Donald Trump's 'embarrassing' visit, attributes Cleveland coughing fit to Trump allergy
Clinton said “no” to the Mexican president’s invitation to fly south of the border — at least not until the election is over, she told ABC News.
Earlier on Monday, the presidential front-runner powered through a coughing fit in Cleveland, Ohio, and blasted Trump’s bungled visit to Mexico City.
“In just a few hours, he managed to turn his trip to Mexico into an embarrassing international incident,” Clinton said, speaking during a Labor Day campaign stop in Luke Easter Park.

“He even got in a Twitter war with the President of Mexico,” she added.
Clinton did her best to laugh it off, telling the crowd in Cleveland she suffers from seasonal allergies — and one irritant in particular caused a flare-up.
"Every time I think about Trump I get allergic," she squeezed out amid her hacking.

In the past, Trump's campaign has said Clinton's coughing fits make her unfit for the presidency — amid persistent rumors fueled by the far right that the 68-year-old is in bad health.
"Must be allergic to media. Finally spent a minute w/ them," tweeted campaign manager Kellyanne Conway.
In a rare sit-down interview, Clinton spoke with ABC’s David Muir alongside VP pick Tim Kaine.
She told Muir she rejected President Enrique Pena Nieto’s invite and opted to continue campaigning in the United States instead.
In August, President Enrique Pena Nieto extended an invitation to Trump and Clinton to meet him on his turf, but only Trump accepted. During a disastrous closed-door meeting, Nieto told Trump that Mexico would not pay for the real estate mogul’s border wall.
Pena Nieto’s constituents bashed their leader for inviting the braggart candidate, even after he notoriously disparaged Mexican immigrants as rapists and drug dealers as a fledgling presidential candidate in 2015.
Clinton also said her husband, Bill Clinton, won't step down from the Clinton Foundation unless she wins the general election - despite allegations it creates a conflict of interest.
"I know that that's what has been alleged and never proven . . . If I am so fortunate enough to be elected, he will not be involved (in the foundation),” she added.
“And I think that is appropriate," she said.
