This is pretty universal. It has to do with a lack of formal schooling and education. It's not that people cannot be kind to each other no matter what race they are or enthnicity, it is that rumors become facts often to uneducated people. So, most of the things they believe are not even true on any level.
So, this is how racism grows. And the less contact with other groups people have the more likely these "rumors" will get worse and become more problematic. So, if rumors persist racial and ethnic problems become worse.
Let me give you an example in another direction. Someone I met who is about my age came to the U.S. from the middle East but was told that the "STreets in the U.S. were paved with Gold" because this is what everyone believed in the country he came from.
So, when he arrived in the U.S. to go to college here he was extremely disappointed to find out that in the U.S. the "STreets were NOT paved with Gold". Maybe things are gold plated in Trump's Plane now but most things in the U.S. are not gold plated, especially the roads that may or may not be repaired when we want them to.
So, if people believed in the 1960s in other countries that "U.S. Streets are paved with gold" you can imagine how incorrect the racist rumors about Americans worldwide actually are among relatively uneducatated people in all directions worldwide.
So, when Americans die in various countries this should not be a surprise either.
And the cause of it all is people believing rumors that are not true and never were. But, because none of them had ever been here before or ever met an American the truth never became known and this is when people die through racist ideas and thoughts not based in fact at all.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
