The cycle of revenge and retribution got even worse than it was before between Shia Muslims and Sunni Muslims with the murders of countless civilians who are mostly Sunni Muslims today by Assad's Shia Muslim Government troops aided by Russia and Iran. So, the slaughter of innocents has ended for now at least in Aleppo. But, the whole world is watching, especially the 1.1 Billion Sunni Muslims who are contemplating their revenge upon all who did this. And this is what the rest of this century likely will be about in the middle East.
Though ISIS has gone or will go away now at least as a landed Army other groups will take revenge on Shia muslims in all ways throughout at least the rest of this century.
Unfortunately, nothing at all has ended this likely will only get much worse than before now.
The really sad thing is all religions but Sunni Muslim likely are going to be genocided out of existence the rest of this century unless Iran gets nuclear weapons. Shia Muslims like IRan and ASsad in Syria are distinct minorities population wise. So, just population wise, Assad and Iran have no chance at all without nuclear weapons and Russia on their side.
