After my daughter gave me the book "The Soul of the Octopus" It took me to a new place. I tend to see people through how their consciousness operates. Size of whoever or whatever I'm dealing with is only important to me if there is going to be some kind of physical confrontation since I'm 6 foot 5 inches tall.
So, most of the time beings (both humans and animals) are no threat to me. So, I can live in this world where "Consciousness" 99 percent of the time is the most important thing in any relationship.
Somehow reading just how physiologically different Octopuses are from humans I found sort of alienating to me because it took it out of the realm of consciousness and put it in the realm of physicality which is harder to deal with if you are talking about touching with and relating to an octopus.
An octopus physically relates completely differently physically to a human being than humans are going to relate to it. If they touch our hands or arm they are also tasting our hand or arm. They are assessing all sorts of things about us that we might have no idea of. Also, if you are living underwater, maybe your eyes are not the most important of senses most of the time because sea water, especially during storms is almost always going to be cloudy from the disturbances especially close to shore where waves are breaking on beaches and rocks.
So, likely sight is not the most important thing to an octopus. So, being forced to see an octopus through physicality more difficult than just experience an octopus soul to soul. Because a human soul could occupy the body of an octopus and the soul of an octopus could occupy the body of a human too. I think maybe this is the most important thing I can say here.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
