Photos from Nepal and India 1985-86
The top photo is some of the 500,000 Tibetan Buddhists mostly in native Dress at the Kalachakra Tantra given as an empowerment by the Dalai Lama then in December 1985 in Bodhgaya, India where the Buddha attained Enlightenment 2600 years ago now.
The 2nd photo is of Tibetan Butter sculptures which inspired the previous article regarding Tibetan Butter Sculptures. The Third photo is one of people grinding grain into flour. The girl is throwing in the grain I believe to be stone ground by what looks like from here water buffalo or a mixed breed of cow something like Brahma or something. As you can see they were very proud of the picture I was taking. For them, it would be like an ET came from space and took this picture because of how different as a foreigner I was from them. Most people like this didn't have educations at all as to reading or writing in India or Nepal. However, owning a farm or even working on a farm like this man likely he was educated.
