If you talk to any PHD in climate science he or she is liable to tell you this. However, this isn't spread among mankind much for obvious reaons. So, scientists generally prefer to let politicians make up their own stories rather than to panic everyone.
However, this is the potential scenario we are facing potentially in the next 300 to 500 years time.
First, as temperatures increase in air and ocean, the increasing clouds tend to decrease land temperatures by clouds occluding the sun more and more of the time. So, as the waters and air above the water temperature increases the temperature of the land (and therefore the air above the land may decrease (especially during winter or rainy seasons worldwide.
So, this sets up potential fluke occurances and it goes something like this. Too much cloudiness generated by too many clouds and rain or snow. Then when temperatures get low enough snow sticks longer and longer in succeeding years. Snow that doesn't melt then creates it's own weather especially in mountains or in windy plains and so snow falls on snow one year year around without the snow ever totally melting off in the summer. This continues and over time gets worse which creates a 10, 20 ,30, 50 100 or more year small ice age. If this cycle doesn't abate then this then fluke occurence then becomes an ice age. And likely over time this snow 20 to 40 to 100 feet deep on the land begins to cool the oceans too. But this doesn't kill the whales and dolphins and other species which just move to warmer waters near the equator. But, the animsals and humans on the land either have to migrate to warmer places or they likely would starve if they can't get food where they are.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
