1986: Elephants on the Terai of Nepal
The top photo is of people riding an elephant. What I found interesting is that rhinos and tigers don't bother elephants even if they are walking by with people on them. So, it is almost maybe like riding in a big jeep. you are relatively safe even in the wilds.
The next photo is of a jeep looking for rhinos and tigers meeting a young man on an elephant in Royal Chitwan National Park in Nepal in 1986 in February then.
The next one is the boy reaching out and touching the elephant. Later in life he got married on Mount Kilamanjaro in Africa. This trip made him a world traveler for life.
The bottom photo is of the elephant handlers bathing elephants. However, there are also gar (a type of alligator or crocodile in the river so (is this dangerous)? I don't know but most things leave elephants alone even lions and tigers because they are just too big if they are adults. Their feet are a foot across and they can come down hard with them if something threatens them and elephants are incredibly smart too like dophins, whales and pigs. The elephants are very intelligent.
By the way if you click on the pictures they should enlarge for you.
