This is the latest map for the Carr fire. But, if you use the minus key you can also back out and go south to see the two total 283,000 acre fire just to the south of the Carr Fire in Clear Lake which to me on the map seems like about 4 or 5 related fires throughout the area of Clear Lake at this point.
I had to drive to San Francisco Airport and the smoke is so bad from these fires today that it was at about 1000 feet (Not down on the ground) but basically it was so thick even near Gilroy and Morgan Hill up to about Blossom Hill Road that it was miles wide and thick at about 1000 feet or the elevation of the Coastal range and you couldn't see the tops of the peaks of the coastal range the smoke was so thick at elevation. Now to give you some perspective of this Clear Lake (the actual lake and city) is 188 miles to the north and slightly to the East of Morgan Hill I believe. And if this is also smoke from the Carr Fire in Redding (don't know for sure) that is 266 miles to the north of Morgan Hill. That is how messed up the smoke is coming all the way over to Morgan Hill and Gilroy and San Jose today.
Also, you will notice that the fire is now burning right along the water of Trinity Lake and very very near the Dam there as well on the Carr Fire.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
