Heading north on I-5 out of Redding
Basically, anywhere north of Redding on Interstate 5 you can expect snow on the roads today likely up to 8 inches of new snow. So, because of this and because the high today in Mt. Shasta city is ONLY 39 degrees you can expect black ice or snow at any point on the roads especially at night. So, understanding this as you head north on Interstate 5 might be important today. Even Redding has a high of only 52 degrees Fahrenheit and a low of 31 tonight.
