The problem becomes anyone within 12 feet of anything metal of any size dies so literally your laptop could theoretically kill you from the Electromagnet Pulse from a nuclear weapon of this size and altitude.
So, basically anyone within about 12 feet of anything large enough that is metal would die.
However, you might not die in your Car or if you were in a plane because both are Faraday cages and the tires or the air would insulate you depending if you were in a car or a plane. However, since everything would shut down electrical even then you might die from that in a plane or a car (especially if you were in an EV (Electric Vehicle or Hybrid) So, you might die much faster in an EV.
Or in a passenger jet everything electrical would go down and all those passenger jets on the side of the earth that the nuke went off might crash.
Globally 12,000 to 14,000 planes in the air in any given moment jet passenger planes.
So, if a 100 megaton bomb hit at 100 miles up and fried everything electrical about at least 4,000 jet passenger planes would crash from melted electrical components no longer working like Control surfaces like Ailerons and rudders. So, you couldn't even fly glide and crash right because no control surfaces at all and all engines would stop because they are electrical based too in how they operate and then you add jet fuel to the mix.
So, what I'm writing about in EMP or "Death Metal" has been proven out through various kinds of testing by the U.S. Government over time.
So, this isn't just theoretical it has been well tested and thought out (even though this type of thing has never happened like Hiroshima and actually Nagasaki have.
