Blogger.com founder also founded Twitter

I was listening to a video clip of Evan Williams who founded Blogger.com and twitter. He was trying to explain the reason for the popularity of Twitter. Twitter uses only 140 characters from any given person or company in any tweet.

I personally can see the value of this. It is sort of like asking a person on the street. How do I get to a specific place. Or "What do you think of such and such."

Sometimes the answer could be "yes" or "NO" or "watch Out" or whatever. The good thing is you get someone's (hopefully) honest answer to any given situation that they are willing to tweet about.

Just like with blogging one has to realize that almost anyone could read your tweet and so one needs to protect oneself (and friends and family or even country, or world) in what one says. Among younger people(6 to 20 year olds) this is more of a problem because they might not immediately get what information not to share or protect. And this creates a further problem if these young ones release certain kinds of information that could damage themselves, their parents, their peers, the world.

So, it is important to realize when one tweets or blogs that one must be conscious of the fact that ANYONE sane or not, terrorist or not has access to this tweet or blog. And theoretically, this information could be kept and used against anyone for hundreds or thousands of years. So, this is something to think about too.
