I thought it might be useful if you are attempting a similar diet to hear exactly what I'm eating today.
Because I was writing I didn't eat anything at all until somewhere between 11:00 am and 11:30am. Though this worked for me because of my own personal metabolism it might not work for you as well. I'm a night person and my daughter and wife are morning people. This just means I'm happier if I stay up late 11pm to 2 am and then make up my sleep in the morning when I can according to business and personal family needs. Since this is Sunday I can be more leisurely than most week days.
So, since I was aware my body wanted organic watermelon to clean my arteries and veins of any plaque I had watermelon first. Now, it is 12:30 and I wanted some more organic watermelon and decided to finish up the rest of the organic strawberries, blueberries and blackberries in a glass with some whipping cream unwhipped. (Now the whipping cream is very unorthodox for this diet but because I have done a previous 7 days in June and lost already 30 pounds I'm allowing the whipping cream but no sweetener). So, so far I've had two pieces of watermelon and a full glass worth of strawberries, blueberries and blackberries all organic and purchased at a local whole foods. However, you also could buy all this likely cheaper and organic at a local farmer's market which are open all over the U.S. at least once a week if you research them or through a food Co-op also locally if you research them locally where you live.
My wife also left some tea this morning for me that I likely will heat up in the microwave soon and have that without any sweetener to wake up a little more because I'm a little spaced out from the diet. Even though that part is pleasant because this is a beautiful sunny day outside I'd like to be a little more active and perky so I probably will have a little tea.
But what might be important to understand is that I haven't eaten any meat, fish, bread, butter, poultry, cheese or anything at all but veggie and fruit juice and avocados, papaya, young coconut, and other fruit and veggies and a little organic peanut butter on a couple of celery stalks for the last 36 hours. But I also had popcorn at the theater last night with my family. That and water is all I have eaten in 36 hours and I am not hungry and I am losing weight in as healthy a way as possible while also detoxifying because when your body is not processing dairy products, eggs, meats, fish, poultry, bread etc. it can detoxify and eliminate any toxin buildup from pesicides, herbicides or anything that might be harmful or not useful to the body. Before we had regular meals and starved a lot of the time the body used these down times from eating to rebuild itself. So, even eating regular meals isn't a natural thing for human bodies it is a socially and culturally contrived thing. This might be important to know if you want to understand how a body actually works and survives long term.
I'll try to add more of what I ate during this 2nd day later because I think it might be helpful to see what actually can work in losing weight in a really healthy way. However, if you have any health issues likely you should consult with your doctor before you do something like this. I couldn't have done this diet either until I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and started on Armour Thyroid which I now get from Canada through a doctors prescription. Without this medicine at the proper dosage this diet likely would have killed me within a week a two before I was 58 when I was first diagnosed over 5 years ago now.
Though I could have done this diet up to about age 40 to 42 I couldn't have done this successfully between the ages of 42 and 58 when my hypothyroidism was first diagnosed. So, be aware of your health if you are going to embark on this kind of diet to lose weight and regain your youthful vitality.
At 2:55 pm I walked down into my garage with a young coconut from Whole Foods and proceeded to lock it in my vice and then get my crosscut saw and cut the very top off of it so I can pour out the coconut juice and scoop out the gelatinous coconut with a spoon. However, I'm thinking that even though I now do this I wonder about other forms of safety. For example, even though I'm not going to cut off my finger with a Handyman knife's saw blade trying to do the same thing my question is: "Am I endangering myself by using a garage crosscut saw blade on food? I'm not sure of the answer but as I was sawing the top off the coconut I had visions of using doctors saws that are stainless steel so they can be sterilized without rusting. So, if you have a stainless steel saw to cut meat with it might also work for cutting the tops of young coconuts. Or, I suppose I could also use my little handyman knife saw while the coconut is in a vice which might be what I do next because I would no longer worry about the coconut moving and cutting my finger on the knife saw blade and because it is stainless steel I can wash it in the sink without worrying about it rusting like I would a normal saw blade. So, maybe I have answered my own questions while writing here.
Regarding human survival and foods:
One of the two things I know about that a human can survive on is coconuts. But, in order to only survive on coconuts even if you don't have another clean water source you have to eat coconuts directly off the coconut palm tree at every stage. So, you eat the youngest ones just for the nutrition rich water. You eat the gelatinous ones because that is helpful to you too. And you also can eat older coconuts when the gelatin turns hard that Pacific Island natives used to call Copra (with a long o and short a) and what most of you are used to eating in coconut cream pies and sugared coconut that is shreded in packages and sweetened. So, the only way you can actually survive on coconuts and nothing else would be to live among coconut palms at that point. But this isn't very pleasant after the first few days because coconuts raw are a diuretic which means they cause you to urinate and get the runs a lot which can be unpleasant after a couple of days. But, you can survive on all stages of coconuts when there is not a pure water source or food source nearby and there are coconut palms there. You would need to be good with a machete or other saw or knife or a sharp rock. For more on this watch the movie:

However, the one thing a person can actually live on while not living where it is grown is baked potatoes. Also, since potatoes can be carried in a backpack or sack without refrigeration for long periods all you really need is some aluminum foil and coals of a fire to make baked potatoes. Some people cook them direct in the coals which is healthier if you don't mind cutting of the burnt parts before you eat them. However, people have survived only on baked potatoes and clean water for up to 5 years or more with no ill effects other than being kind of thin and bored of baked potatoes. I think this is one reason the Incas cultivated them because a person can live on only baked potatoes and they can be grown most places on earth. But, here is the catch, they need to be organic because you will die if you don't eat the peels too because most of the nutrition is in the peels. So, you have to eat the peels and you have to grow them organic or it isn't safe to eat the peels and it really isn't a good thing to eat potatoes at all if they are not organic because potatoes, apples, and carrots all take herbicides and pesticides right into their meat and so you cannot wash pesticides, or herbicides off potatoes, apples or carrots. If you don't buy them organic you are eating pesticides no matter what you do to them.
At 4:00 pm I'm having another piece of watermelon while my son has a piece of organic honeydew melon and organic watermelon. By the way 30 days on only watermelon can avoid a heart bipass surgery. The problem is by the time one needs the surgery it is usually to late to do a 30 day organic watermelon fast to clean your arteries. There is one other way which is 6 months on only organic brown rice will clean out your arteries and veins too. But most people couldn't handle 6 months of only organic brown rice.
So as a preventative I used to do 4 days of only organic watermelon and water every summer during the 1980s when I was in my late 30s and early 40s. So, when I had an angiogram in 1998 in the fall they had never seen such clear arteries and veins on anyone at Stanford Medical near Stanford University. However, I was raised a Lacto-Ovo vegetarian from birth to age 32 when I decided I needed to be able to eat anything in an emergency. 1980 was a lot like now with 10 percent unemployment so I wanted to be prepared for anything.
6pm
I ate about 10 cashews because I went for a 2 to 3 mile hike with my son with the dogs. Then I also ate 5 individual stalks of Organic Celery that was together in a bunch with organic peanut butter spread in the grooves. I also opened up an organic pineapple and cut myself off a round because I wanted to open it to make fresh juice later. My old standby which is "Beet Power" or some variation of this is likely what I will make within the next couple of hours.
Here is my son's most successful "Beet Power" recipe:
Beet Power
1/2 beet
1 lemon
1 slice of pineapple
1 large handful of spinach
3 leaves of kale
5 carrots
2 apples
1 small handful of mint
note: some people like the lemon and some don't so change the recipe to your own tastes to keep on the diet. Also, this diet variation works for me personally but I would have to add a lot more vegetables that I juiced to be able to do this diet for more than one week or so. Joe Cross recommends that you drink 6 glasses of juice (12 ounces or more) per day in addition to any water you drink. So, if you are only doing juice and nothing that has fibre or real substance remember you need at least 6 glasses of freshly made juice for this to work for you. And then likely the Mean Green Drink would be the best for this for many of you. (I can't deal with the cucumbers because they make me burp and upset my stomach personally) Here is the Mean Green Drink:
Mean green juice
4 stalks of celery
1 cucumber
1 thumb size ginger
1/2 lemon including peel
2 apples
6 leaves of kale
For Joe Cross and his "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead diet this is the basis for doing 30 days and then you add in other juices to taste and preference freshly made and organic. He lost 100 pounds in about 80 days I believe and cured himself of an auto-immune disease through this diet change.
But it is important that one way to keep the weight off is to keep juicing 1 to 3 meals every day. After you do about 7 days likely your tastes will change because you will feel so very much better you will say to yourselves, "Why would I go eat stuff that makes me feel terrible all the time?" So this is part of why you change your tastes because you become more aware of what you body actually needs to be happy and to survive.
You begin to "Eat to Live. Rather than Live to Eat." learning to "Eat to live" is how to increase your life span by up to 50 years under the right conditions.
One of the tricks on this or almost any diet is to be sure to eat something at the least every two hours while you are awake. This brings down your appetite so you can stay on the diet. So, just remember to eat or drink a little something of food value every 2 hours to more easily stay on your diet.
I'm planning on eating a piece of Watermelon and I just ate some organic pineapple that I just cut off a round of a few minutes ago. it is now about 6:45 pm where I live.
Also, now enjoying organic oranges that I cut in half to enjoy them.
My wife was eating some heirloom tomatoes with virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar. I thought this was a really great idea so I walked over and found a ripe green heirloom tomato and cut it into slices and put some virgin olive oil on the slices and then a little Balsamic vinegar and that is really lovely to eat about now.
Now, if you noticed everything I ate since I woke up this morning absolutely nothing would prevent me from losing weight except maybe the peanut butter and 10 cashews and maybe the whipping cream I put on the fruit this morning. However, everything else I have been eating contributes to micro nutrients (to make me feel and be very healthy with a much stronger immune system) while allowing my body to feel safe at losing weight and detoxifying itself. So, my body is completely happy with what I'm doing getting healthier. I'm a little more spaced out than normal but I'm managing that according to what I need to be doing day by day. I'm ready and willing to go off this diet at any point if it seems necessary either in my emergency or someone else's or needing to make important business decisions or having to drive a long distance where I really need to have more focus and concentration.
Though I might have a few snacks and make at least 1 Beet power juice I'm going to stop logging information for now because I think you get the idea of what I'm doing. Also, I'm 6 foot 5 inches tall and you would need possibly less than I to keep your body functioning the way you want it to while dieting.
