What is motivating Islamic State Militants?

Islam has Mecca but many do not like the government presently in Saudi Arabia among Sunni Muslims. So, individuals who are Sunni fundamentalist extremists fund the Islamic State on an individual basis.

What began this anger slowly building was what has been happening to Sunnis in Syria. In case you didn't notice 9 million Sunnis in Syria have been displaced by this war either inside Syria or are in Refugee camps in Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey or have moved to Europe to live illegally for the most part to save their families from starvation and death at the hands of Assad who is funded by Russia and Iran by weapons and food and their militaries (mostly Iran and Hezbollah armies).

Over the last 4 years Sunni muslims (all 1.2 billion of them) have been getting angrier and angrier at the treatment of their fellow Sunni Muslims in Syria. This caused and continues to cause the funding of the Islamic State by this very very angry Sunni Muslims throughout the world who now want a jihad against Shias in Syria, Iraq and Iran.

However, this is complicated by Russia being allied with Iran and Syria. So, Sunni nations know that they cannot stand up to Russia alone.

So, over the years the Sunni nations have all made friends with Europe and the U.S. Because the U.S. has always been a traditional enemy of Russia since World War II and the Cold War.

The Islamic State is an effort by rich individuals who are Sunni throughout the middle east to extinct all Shia Muslims in Syria, Iraq and Iran.

The U.S. is still enemies with Iran but really cannot afford to be an enemy of Russia because that might mean the end of Earth and of all life upon it through nuclear war.

So, the Islamic State is a way for Sunnis to extinct ALL Shias (and any other minority like Christians, Tazidis or Turkmen and others).

The U.S. could not just stand by and let hundreds of thousands of people be beheaded or starve to death so we now stepped into this genocidal mess.

Nations generally agree with what the U.S. is doing. However, some private individuals (likely about 10 to 11 million extremist Sunni Muslims likely are irate at what the U.S. and Great Britain are doing to the Islamic State.

But, like I said in another article the Islamic State threatens the existence of all governments on earth as long as it exists. So, many if not all  governments approve of what the U.S. and Great Britain are now doing in Iraq to rid the world of the Islamic State.

And I would not be surprised at all if the U.S. and Great Britain were given permission by Russia and Iran and Assad to end the Islamic State in Syria at this point too. (Even though Russia and Iran caused this whole mess by funding Assad in Syria 4 years ago.)
