When a peaceful law abiding citizen is trained to kill on orders PTSD is one of the potential results from a kill or be killed situation

I think people don't realize just how difficult it is for police and soldiers to make good or useful decisions when they feel  their lives are threatened or others lives are potentially threatened too. It is also not surprising that people who don't fully understand this are taking pot shots at police or soldiers now in the U.S.

If you notice the people being shot the most are either high on drugs or they are mentally challenged in some way or both. These scenarios create a level of ambiguity that is untenable for police especially.

The problem becomes something like this. A family member gets scared of someone like this. They call the police thinking the police are going to solve this problem, when most of the time they need a priest, minister or someone that troubled person trusts. A police man or woman is not prepared for this level of ambiguity and only sees this person as a potential threat to themselves, the people that called them, or society in general.

The problem is society's not the police man or woman who is called. The problem is that someone psychologically more qualified to deal with this situation needs to be there. But, obviously when someone dies they are not there.

So, if you want to reduce the number of white or black unarmed people who are shot by police you have to change the way things are done and have a specialist who is trained in counseling or who is trained in psychological or drug related psychological disorders or people are just going to be killed more and more by the police (who aren't trained for this other than to shoot).

This is important because more police are going to be shot in retribution especially for the black people who are unarmed that they are shooting around the country.

So, to reduce the number of citizens and police who are being shot lately, you have to start hiring trained counselors for these kinds of situations so less unarmed people are being shot (and less police are being shot in retribution too).

Also, how 911 calls have to be handled differently too.

Maybe some of the questions:

"Is this person armed?"
Is this person mentally disabled or on drugs?"
Is this a domestic disturbance?"

What is going on there exactly?

"Are you afraid for your life and well being?"

And some of you can think up better questions than this too that would be important to ask to prevent more deaths of civilians and police on into the future.
