Our most polluted (air pollution) city is Visalia, California and even it is only 1,080 on the list. This is one of the amazing things I found out in the last 24 hours. I have been to places like New Delhi and Bangkok in the 1980s and then most places like this didn't even have mufflers on cars and so often the air was brown with exhaust from cars and trucks and you could be deafened just by traffic noise from just trucks and cars outside. But, even that didn't prepare me for what comes across the ocean in the air to Seoul, Korea from Beijing. And I have never been to Beijing to see that level of smog either. Then to find out that the worst air pollution in the world consistently isn't in China or India but in Iran is amazing too.
But, realizing over 7 million people every year now or 70 million every 10 years are dying in the world just from air pollution doesn't surprise me anymore.
It's sort of like the other true fact just about America that 300,000 people have now died from opiate overdose in the U.S. since 2000 and at least half of these are from prescription opiates and to further blow your mind most doctors who prescribe these opiates are never told which of their patients overdose and die either.
So, air pollution is obviously worse than opiates on a world wide basis but don't both sort of blow your mind as normal conceptions of things here on earth sort of go out the window completely as Americans?
But it does sort of make you wonder just how bad some cities in the U.S. are going to be air pollution wise with no energy department or functional EPA in place to protect U.S. citizens health from air water food earth and many many poisonous things companies are going to make now without protecting U.S. citizens at all with Trump in office?
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
