As I watched a live feed of this with earphones on on my Iphone this morning I was struck by many things watching this.
First, I realized just how little Comey could share because of ongoing investigations into all people associated with Trump in addition to investigations into Putin and Russia and how macheavellian and how invasive they have been into America Politics using money to bribe the weak will or those who could be blackmailed here in the U.S. at all points and at all times.
I agree that this is a time for patriotism not politics in preserving our free democracy under attack in any macheavellian way possible.
The problem is that a free and open society can't really exist with the types of Cyber warfare capabilities available to places like Russia and China. Though most of the technology we have developed ourselves, they are now being used to destroy our democracy.
It really isn't at all about Republican or Democrat it is about the survival of a democracy at all that we live in.
I'm not sure a real democracy can survive at all. A sham might but a real democracy likely cannot survive the technology the world has already.
This might be the awful fact of life we must all face whether we are Republican, or Democrat or Independent.
It may be that no real democracy can survive these present technologies just because of the complete loss of privacy for all individuals and leaders on the planet everywhere now.
There is not one, not any leader not any government not any person in intelligence worldwide that is not being observed worldwide right now.
