Guiding ships to safety
National Lighthouse Day brings us to Port Clyde, Maine, where Marshall Point Lighthouse keeps watch over the Atlantic. Lighthouses have long played an important role in seafaring, and for many, they symbolize a simpler, more romantic way of life. Many lighthouses offer tours and some even let guests stay overnight, so they can get a feel for the life of lighthouse keepers who once tended the lights in the days of oil lamps.Marshall Point Lighthouse Port Clyde Maine
