Drones were initially designed for use by the military in their mostly covert operations before they were opened up for use by civilians. For this reason, military drones were more advanced in their features and capabilities and came with additional accessories that are not seen or found in civilian drones. We take a look at some of the best military drones ever to be designed by the military.
1. X-47B PEGASUS
The Pegasus drone is one of the few unmanned aircrafts that is designed for aircraft carriers. The drone is huge and is designed to cruise at 0.45 Mach and can attain speeds of over 180 mph. An important feature of the Pegasus is that it can easily take off from the ground and land all by itself, in addition to refueling over the ocean. It can also be fitted with smart bombs and other weaponry that can self-deploy using the onboard computer systems.

What I find amazing about this particular drone which at the point (publicly at least) is the best of the best worldwide in the category of "military Drones" so far is that this thing goes Mach .45 Autonomously and can by itself take off or land from or onto an aircraft carrier.
By the way, Mach .45 is 345.271miles per hour which is very very fast for present day drones. However, because no human is on board there is likely no limit to the speed of a drone from a theoretical point of view because you don't have to worry about a human being dying from too many G's and air vehicles can be stressed (theoretically at least) for literally any g loading possible. So, if the G loading doesn't just rip the wings off, it's possible. And heat isn't a problem at super high speeds either if you have the type of heat shielding used for electronics that you use for re-entry from space at high speeds. So, the outer hull of a drone could literally be red hot while traveling around the world or from going straight up into space and re-entering at another point on the globe a way beyond supersonic speeds. So, any speed that doesn't completely incinerate a drone could be achieved in a space re-entry of a drone sent from anywhere on earth or space.
So, because of this there is no permanent speed limit for any drone as newer heat resistant materials are created on earth or beyond earth.
I just had sort of a horrific thought about all this: I realized the ultimate weapon just might be a human caused meteor like event which means if you took something that you expect to burn up and melt but mostly retain it's shape coming in at really horrific speeds it would be possible to design something to do even what the Asteroid did 65 million years ago when all the dinosaurs died. Did our ancestors on Maldek out past Mars send this to earth to kill the big dinosaurs so we could live here after Maldek, then the planet (now the asteroid belt) was destroyed by a nuclear war?
By killing off the larger dinosaur species (if this is what they did) then it made human life more possible on earth because then you only had to deal with Saber toothed tigers, Bears and Whales and sharks and Crocodiles and such was all that was left including Mammoths and eventually Elephants.
But, all the T-Rex types were gone permanently because they were too big to hide in a cave to stay warm enough to survive the nuclear winter from the Asteroid that hit which created the Gulf of Mexico now 65 million years ago.
So, maybe the worst weapon would be a human caused asteroid like event which would take out all human life on earth just the way it took out the dinosaurs 65 million years ago.
So, I just realized one event would end all human life on earth. Or if it didn't the remaining humans would have to live underground to stay warm and generate their own electricity from geothermal or winds (because the sun wouldn't be shining for several years on earth from this kind of event. So, living underground would be what people would have to do to stay warm and to grow food with grow lights. The power would come from winds on the surface or geothermal or burning fossil fuels or wind on waves or hydro-electric because even without the sun you still would have rain and fresh water and winds. So, the more technically advanced humans might survive this. But most animal and plant life might die without the sun on the surface for a few years. After two years the sun likely would begin to shine some places once again.
During this time likely people would have to become mostly vegetarian because it wouldn't be possible to raise animals to eat underground but it would be possible to grow things with grow lights in underground caverns and caves both natural and human made. However, it might be possible to have milk cows or milk goats for milk for children to drink some places.
