Freezing around SF BAy ARea

Temperatures were unusually low for this time of year with many places (especially inland farmlands) getting freezing weather. This is fairly serious and could have ruined many crops as freezing weather and or frost hit various cultivated plants. Pets needed to be kept in last night because even here on the coast of northern California (even with the Pacific ocean to keep temperatures warmer along the coast even our coastal temperatures were around 32 to 35 degrees with temperatures much lower inland.

California is one of the few areas of the U.S. along with Florida that actually has 4 growing seasons. It's one of the reasons why produce is so expensive lately because of California droughts and now freezing temperatures are going to take a big toll on produce grown throughout California right now. So, the twin threats of a drought along with freezing now could harm the present California crops growing now this season.

For example, at 11 am Wednesday it is still only 49 degrees where I live on the SF BAY AREA Coast. However, the low tonight where I live is a lot higher than last night tonight is supposed to be 42 degrees which is a whole lot better than the 34 last night.

It's presently only 29 degrees in Mt. Shasta and the low last night there was about 20 degrees Fahrenheit. So, if there is snow on the ground there still in the city it's all ice or likely icy right now.
