It's been raining continuously for at least 6 hours or more now

However, it was beginning to rain last night too. We were told to expect up to 50 mile per hour winds here but I think what happened is that those winds came to San Francisco and north of there instead of here. Winds only got up to about 6 to 8 miles per hour here but I looked online at winds of 25 miles per hour or more in San Francisco Proper.

It's not a good day to be driving places and more of a day to stay home and hibernate if you can this winter. Since winter formally began just before Christmas I'm wondering what kind of a winter this will now turn out to be.

The good news (for California at least) is ongoing storms hitting us for the next few weeks time. For example, it's supposed to rain here almost every day the next week or so including New Years Eve. One of our guests was going to return to southern California today but thought better of it because of the heavy rain. There might be a break partly or fully tomorrow though when they can drive south without driving through heavy rain before the rain returns by Thursday coming down heavily again by Thursday.
