One of the very basic rules to creative writing is to "Write what you know about and are familiar with" and also "Write what you are interested in". However, one problem (if you are wanting other people to read this) is that it often is obvious to others what you actually know about and don't know about that you are writing about.
However, if you just don't care what people think and are just writing for yourself to entertain yourself and just a few friends this might not matter at all.
However, the more realism to what you write the more likely people will actually want to read it. Unless you are writing this for yourself and your therapist (for self healing) and that is an entirely different matter. Then your therapist might have you write certain things and then burn them so you can release whatever it is that is bothering you that you might not want others to know about outside of yourself. But, that is often an entirely different thing.
Most of the time I like to write in story telling form like I am talking to a friend and telling them a true story about my life because often that is almost usually what I'm doing. So, even if someone I'm telling this story to might think it is science fiction, actually it's not. It's me actually telling people of my experiences. Because maybe they have never met in real life and actual intuitive that would share real stuff with them before.
As one travels the world as an intuitive like I am I often meet or see different versions of people with my types of abilities because it is very obvious to me as I pass by them even if I never actually meet them in person. And very likely people with my types of abilities will know when they see me just from the look in my face, the look of my aura and how I carry myself.
We are all usually much more fearless people than the average ones you might meet simply because we tend to know the motivations of most people around us at maybe 100 feet or more so sometimes when really dangerous or crazy people are around we might walk another direction simply because to everyone else that person might look completely normal in their dress and actions.
The craziest looking people you will see on the street are not the most dangerous in life you will find out now or eventually, hopefully.
So, as a writer write about what you know and have experienced and what you are interested in. IF it is fiction you are writing, write something you would like to read. Because eventually you will, when after a year or two of not reading it, you will then be a different person and when you read it it might be new to you then and you might be amazed at what you have written. Sometimes, I find this is the most fun. But also, you might be horrified by typos, and contexts etc. too. But, try not to be to hard on yourself and just enjoy what you have written like you are a different person than wrote it.
I personally have a lot of problems with editing because whatever I write is like my baby, my child and even if I am critical of my child I am often angry with myself. But, that is just me. Other writers might be able to self edit better than I do. Whereas I usually never have a writer's block much.
Although I find I write a lot less since I have to take heart medicine, a daily diuretic on top of Armour Thyroid for being hypothyroid. So, having to take medicines that might make you feel a little different at times might affect your writing or style as time goes on.
However, some of you might find it like being a different person and it might also increase your writing abilities in some new and interesting direction. For me, I sort of feel a little imprisoned by having to take medicines every 12 hours for one and every 24 hours for the other two and not being able to eat 2 hours before one or 1 hour after one of them. So, it is kind of a pain in the ass having to take medicines all the time. But, like many people say, "What is the alternative?"
Especially because, writing for me is like being an explorer of myself, of life, and the world and the universe. So, we will see what is next for me now in life.
So, remember in Creative writing to write about what you know about combined with what you are interested in combined with what you would actually like to read about were you the reader instead of the writer.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
