PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) — An active afternoon of weather is
expected in the Portland metro area with storms, gusty winds and small
hail possible.
A severe thunderstorm warning was in effect for Multnomah and Clackamas counties, but that expired. However, there is a Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect until 8 p.m. for areas east of the Portland metro.
Storms near Corvallis and Albany headed up the Willamette Valley. A
number of lightning strikes were seen in the Portland metro area around
11 a.m.
Some people are experiencing power outages in Clackamas, Washington and Yamhill counties. As of 5:50 p.m, about 130 customers were affected.
Hundreds of lightning strikes hit the Coast Range Tuesday morning,
and the threat of storms continues Wednesday, with temperatures falling
into the 70s.
Lingering showers are expected Thursday, then dry, warmer and pleasant Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
