Turnouts overflow with whale watchers as humpbacks devour anchovies

Lately, on the northern California coast anchovies have been beaching themselves a lot. Likely, this is a bumper crop year for anchovies for some reason after almost going extinct I believe in the 1930s and 1940s during the "Cannery Row" era with Steinbeck writing about all this in his famous books The.

However, when I tried to get a quote of this article for you I wasn't able to. However, if you are willing to be patient enough to wait for it like I was, you can read it on a PDF file.

To download the August 8, 2014, Main News section, please click here (32 pages, 18 mb)

So, if you wait for it to slowly load as it loads all the pdf pages down to 14A and then 25A you can read the article yourselves if you are interested. There is also a picture on 14a below the article of what looks like two humpbacks jumping out of the water as two horseback riders watch on shore.

My wife was reading this article today and remarked about it because we have been hearing about the anchovies beaching themselvs on KSBW news lately.

This might work too. But I didn't have any success at all here:
