This is on page 6 of the time Magazine with the Snapchat guy wearing a doggy face on it.
Quote:
70 pounds that the 83 year old Supreme Court justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg can normally bench press, According to her personal trainer.
end quote from Time Magazine.
This impressed me because at 68 because of my burst appendix in 2015 and because of a Laproscopic operation to fix it, this gave me a hernia in the area of my bellybutton so I can only lift (with a weight belt on not to tear further my hernia 50 pounds.
So, I'm really impressed that an 83 year old petite Supreme Court Justice can bench press 70 pounds.
So, if you are somewhere between 50 and whatever, you don't just start lifting this much weight cold turkey because it could kill you. You have to work up to lifting this much weight over 50.
However, if you have been lifting 100 to 300 pounds regularly your only limitation really is you don't want to compress your disks as you age. (the disks in your back that allow you to walk without a lot of pain.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
