78.8 degrees Fahrenheit Scripps pier water in La Jolla today
If you can believe that it's a record for water temperature in the ocean (all time record) for any August 16th on record. What's crazy is this is more like water Temperatures in Fall or spring in Hawaii, not California anyplace. Kona side when I went snorkeling there in January was about 85 degrees but that is far south on the big Island of Hawaii.
