Looking at the above fire map of the Carr Fire the fire looks to be moving to the north, the west and to the Southwest but basically the 35% or so contained part is facing Redding now which is to the east and south east of the fire.
By the way using this URL I gave you here for the Carr fire you can also use the minus key and go out and see any fire in California and some in surrounding states. Then you can drill down using the Plus key while using your mouse to move the map to see any fire in these areas.
