If you were wondering what the fuss is all about regarding the arrest of the CFO in Canada of Huawei you need look no further than the Gene Edited babies already born in China.
Ethics the way you might find them in the U.S. or Europe don't really exist in China because culturally they come from a completely different place than the U.S. and Europe do.
I'm not saying that Huawei had anything necessarily to do with gene edited babies. What I am saying is China is "Anti-human rights" in general. So, things aren't about human rights because there aren't any in China. Things are usually about money (at least from a Western perspective).
Though there might be many other factors involved in something like this, most Americans and Europeans would be hard pressed to try to find out what they are other than just pure money.
The real problem with this is it reminds me a lot of the first cloned babies born years ago now. Now we have edited gene babies.
When will we have Babies bred who are part cyborg at birth?
When will we have babies bred to be soldiers from birth who have to be kept in cages because they aren't civilized and can never be sort of like the gladiators of old?
The real problem here is not these specific gene edited babies but rather what kind of a world do we all want to live in?
Since there's no consensus worldwide, almost anything can and will happen (likely in China first) at this point.
Which is also one of the many reasons the trade war with China is going on because the U.S. is worried about the future for any human on earth with ANY human rights anywhere at all on earth.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
