As education grows and medical possibilities increase people are less Religious in general in the U.S.

I have watched all this happen in real time because when I was young about 80% or more of the people identified as "Christian" here in the U.S. and often they attended church more than Christmas or Easter too. But, I think the beginning of the change was in the Viet Nam War where people completely lost faith in their government and being told the truth about anything and then this extended into their religions too over time where they realized they were being lied to an manipulated more not only by their government but also by their religions.

As each new generation gets educated more and can think critically you will likely see less and less people willing to "Buy into" fairy tales of various religions.

Is this good?

I think it's both good and bad as people move out of being sort of like children for life and believing in fairy tales and start to take more personal responsibility for their lives and take that responsibility away from their religions and churches.

So, it's bad in that people might be turning to drugs and alcohol more and losing their lives too but it's also good in that maybe people in general are learning to make better decisions in their lives and learning to make these decisions themselves and not leaning on others who might or might not be actually able to help them stay alive and sane.

So, what I'm saying here is that people are growing up more and are less fearful and childlike in some ways but this also has consequences. Everyone wants to be free.

However, FREEDOM IS RESPONSIBILITY

This is true too.

So, if you are completely free if you aren't also a responsible person then you are soon crazy or dead.

So, if you aren't as grown up as you think you are you are soon dead anyway.

But, the other side of this is: "NOTHING VENTURED NOTHING GAINED".

So, these changes are both good and bad as you can see.

Where will all this end up?

That's anyone's guess.

Are religions the Opiate of the People. Of Course!

But, did we have the problems we have now in the 1950s? No.

We had different ones when people were more religious than now.

Was it better then?

No. It was just different that's all.
