What is the major difference between being raised in a religion and being raised in a Cult?

A cult is usually less people than in a religion. Otherwise, basically there is no difference at all.

When you are a cult member often you cannot speak about your beliefs to the general public past a certain point. For example, my religion was considered a cult because at that time maybe there were 30,000 people on earth in many countries in Europe and the U.S. and New Zealand and Canada and Australia who were members of the Christian Mystic Cult I was raised in. So, especially growing up in the 1950s I had to be careful how I talked about my religion. So, if someone asked me what I believed I would say something as a child like: "My religion is a lot like Christian Science" which is what I was told to say by my parents. But, other than that unless this was my closest most trusted friend I would always say nothing.
