When I went to Varanasi (Benares), India to the Burning Ghat we went out on a rowboat onto the Ganges River and saw the Pink Dolphins swimming there in 1986. However, I suppose it also could have been the very end of December 1985. However, because we went to Nalanda Buddhist University ruins it was likely early 1986 in January we actually went there and saw the Pink Dolphins. Then we took the train to Agra to where the Taj Mahal and went inside it because you were still able to do that in 1986 then. Then we went to New Delhi for awhile and then took train and bus to Dharamshala where the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan Government in Exile are.
