Why?
Because when you pass they are only exposed to your cars electrical coronas for a moment. It is long term exposure that is the problem.
However, this could change with time. Right now, you need to get dental lead lined protectors (the kind used to protect you from x-rays and the floors of your hybrids and electrics need to be lined with this under your carpets. However, even after you do this you need to have your car interiors tested for electrical corona leakage seriously in order to protect your children from dna harm over time. Mostly just realize you need to have lead barriers between you and any large electric motor or large electric generator.
I was also thinking that a lead sheet between you and your cell phone in your pocket also might protect you as well as not ever putting your phone up to your head to talk except in an emergency also. for example, if I can I never put my smartphone up to my head I open the speakerphone instead. Though my phone call is not private it protects my brain and head from harm over time. Another way is to hold the phone away from your body while you talk through a wire through and earphone and built in mike into the earphone as well. For now, these are the best ways to protect yourselves from future health problems of various kinds that will arise naturally over time from this kind of exposure.
To think that hybrids and electrical vehicles and cell phones are physically safe to be around ongoing is to be a fool and not to understand technology or it's risks.
It's like saying "Alcohol and drugs are risk free!"
So, be smart and understand what you are really dealing with here technologically.
NOte: Electic car and hybrid car batteries do not usually give off electrical coronas but sometimes they do catch fire.
So, the batteries are not a problem regarding electrical coronas just catching fire sometimes. And Electrical coronas usually only exist during the transmission or generation of electricity so mostly imagine a large generator or electric motor being like the sun and the electrical corona is like the rays of the sun traveling out from the sun.
So, they go in all directions from the motor or generator in a spherical way usually from the source but only when the motor is running or the generator is generating.
Technically speaking an electric motor and an electric generator are actually the same thing except one is generating the power and one is using the power that's the only real difference.
Whereas batteries store the power but once the electricity gets there no electrical corona exists around the batteries until they start discharging electricity to the motor or generator sends electricity to the batteries. (ONly hybrids have generators because All electrics get their electricity from being plugged in and sometimes from solar cells built into the all electrics on their roofs.
I don't think you are going to get a corona from solar cells on your roof of your car because the rate of electricity is at a trickle even when the sun is out. So, if there were a corona it would be very very small.
So, I wouldn't worry about solar cells in relation to generating electricity regarding electrical coronas.
However, as the efficiency of Solar Cells increases this might all change over time.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
