Reality | Definition of Reality by Merriam-Webster

Definition of reality for English Language Learners. : the true situation that exists : the real situation. : something that actually exists or happens : a real event, occurrence, situation, etc.

From my own point of view reality is what you perceive things to actually be an mean on a given day. This "sense of reality might change" as you get more information about people, places, conditions and things.

There is a saying "Ignorance is Bliss"

My saying would be "Ignorance is usually an early death"

So, though ignorance is bliss in the moment it is often a short moment before death.

So, the more developed your sense of reality is the longer you will tend to live.

How do you develop your sense of reality?

By experiencing life. By Traveling the world. By meeting people with different political or religious views than yourself without killing them.

Only in this way does your reality expand enough to be useful to you.

I find it easier to be "Inclusive" rather than "exclusive" in expanding my reality into hitherto unknown regions.

When you are exclusive it is based upon the words "To exclude" which means you are going to leave people or animals or life out of your "Exclusive" reality.

By doing this one demonstrates their ignorance immediately and thereby their life is shortened automatically by the fear this will tend to create in their lives by shutting out all other points of view.

For example, my father when I was growing up  was a Conservative Republican. However, he was also open minded and valedictorian of his public High School Growing up. So, he starting to teach me debating skills at age 8 and wanted me to debate about anything I was interested in which I look back now as one of the most expansive things he ever taught me.

So, instead of teaching me just to have one point of view and never listening to others he taught me to debate with others on any subject. But if I couldn't convince others of my point of view then I had to start taking seriously what they were saying sometimes too.

So, when I couldn't win a debate with someone often I had to often grudgingly admit I might be wrong.

And by admitting I might be wrong in my point of view that point of view could expand to encompass other points of view including other religions and philosophies from around the world.

Eventually, I learned that there are no stupid cultures on earth just cultures and religions with different priorities. So, once you discover the priorities of whatever culture or person you are studying you begin to understand them and you stop being afraid of them because you understand them and maybe you can even make friends with them and have them teach you things that would be helpful in your life too.

By God's Grace
