Why Men Will Never Fully Recover From The Great Recession

Though in the second phase of the Great Recession many women have lost jobs, still 3/4 of the jobs lost so far during the Great Recession were men's jobs. The biggest loss for men was in new Construction and remodeling homes, in manufactuing and in finance that hit well paying jobs and Contractors all across the U.S. This was and still is a major disempowerment for men in the U.S. I myself know General Building Contractors that were forced to lay off all their men who now work as finish Carpenters by themselves if they can find even that. But what happened to all their men layed off work often permanently?
And as the time moves on often they are replaced by people who will work for less or for cash so those jobs will never come back as well paying jobs ever.
So, even though one man in the 1950s often at 16 or 17 years of age could go to work as even a garbage man and make enough money then to support 5 people and to own a home by age 20 this is no longer true.
So, getting ahead has more to do with going to college and becoming a doctor, lawyer, Nurse, or entrepreneur than ever before. Dropping out of high school and into a well paying job for a man doesn't happen often if at all anymore. So, the buying power of young men without college educations is continuing to reduce across all races and nationalities. Often young men turn to crime in order to feed themselves and their families and their children out of desperation which only lands them in jail and makes the whole thing even worse. So, how will society deal with all this? Hopefully, it will concentrate on college starting through community colleges and grants and loans to lift young men and women out of poverty through state colleges and universities.
One of the other problems is that men who are less adaptable in the workplace in some ways than women likely will tend to resent women keeping their jobs while being paid less for those same jobs that the men did before. So, this recession can likely only cause more resentment and hostility from men towards women than before. I find this very unfortunate and a bad harbinger for the future.
This greatly complicates the progression forwards by women during the last century. Because if men now feel that women have gotten ahead at the expense of male usefulness and pride there could be a backlash of some sort coming. Up until now however, most males don't see women as the problem because when men have lost their jobs often women kept theirs and were able to feed the family at less pay but at least sometimes the family home wasn't lost as a result of the girlfriend, or wife's job and the children kept being fed through the work of the mother as well. But, in the long run these dynamics might become a problem in many different societies in mankind in yet unexpected ways.
