I started to watch the Amy Schumer Leather Special today because I find her humor very Zen like. So, even though often it is based upon sex it is done in such a way as to liberate both men and women from "hangups" about sex and about being men and women in this day and age.
One of the powerful subjects she chose is how men are taught to think like "They are Gods!" and women are taught to hate themselves.
This brought up a powerful realization I had the other day about my mother and grandmother, both of which were dyslexic. I would say that my mother and Grandmother were both spiritually empowered but neither was in an era when they would have chosen to go see a psychologist about how they had been abused as women growing up with dyslexia.
I felt always like their Knight protecting them in a more evolved way than my father who was born in 1916 who had his own issues because of the era he was born in.
My mother and father and Grandmother protected me a lot from the world growing up by what they did and said to me. But, mostly they empowered me to be a Man sort of like a God in my family. My father was also treated like a God.
But, there was always this feeling that they were not allowed to talk much at dinner like my father and I were. So, my father was a God and I was a God in training.
It's true what Amy Schumer Says about men being told they can do "Anything" Because they are Gods.
I was taught to make my own rules in life because laws were always evolving.
I was taught to debate by my father from age 8 because he was after all valedictorian of his High School Class.
I was taught I could do or be anything I wanted to because I couldn't get raped and get pregnant before abortions were legal in the U.S.
You have no idea how debilitating it is for women who cannot have abortions when they get raped by anyone.
Right there they feel like 2nd class citizens and expendable as people, dead to the world which was how sort of I was taught to think of women in the 1950 who got raped, (that their lives were over) for all intents and purposes.
But, also paradoxically, if they were date raped often they could marry who date raped them and often this was who they stayed with for life whether they wanted to or not especially if they got pregnant.
THIS IS EXACTLY HOW LIFE WAS FOR WOMEN WHEN I GREW UP AND STILL IS FOR WOMEN IN MOST OF THE WORLD!
NOTE: BY the way the Amy Schumer Leather Special is on Netflix right now. I saw it advertised on TV and watched about 10 minutes of it and realized my wife would want to watch this with me so I saved it for this evening.
Also, it is definitely rated R or sometimes even X so be careful of your children's minds because they might not be ready for her biting, cutting sexual style of humor. However, it is also very liberating especially for women and men to watch together if they both are evolved enough in their thinking.
To the best of my ability I write about my experience of the Universe Past, Present and Future
