info regarding Bomb Cyclone from a friend in Mt. Shasta

He said they expect 6 to 7 inches of rain to hit the fires which likely will not only put them out but also cause major mudslides in the burn areas where nothing is left growing except maybe dead trees. He also said he was up on Mt. Shasta talking to me and couldn't see any smoke today while up as far as Red Fir Flat which is next to the entrance to Lower Sand Flat Road up Everitt Memorial Highway which is a paved road from Mt. Shasta city up as far as Panther Meadows if the road is now open that far. It often closes at Bunny Flat if there is snow there. Also, he said they only expect 1 inch of rain in Mt. Shasta city and a frosting of snow higher up on Mt. Shasta.
