Regarding this article I researched just where the drought is in Brazil. I was amazed it was so deep into South America about 1/2 of the way between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Having the Amazon River go into this severe drought without almost any water and likely no boating can happen much or even rafts this is pretty serious for people who live upon the Amazon all along it who use it as a road like ancient people in the U.S. and around the world did before roads were built that much. Even the Lewis and Clarke expedition from the East to the Western United States mostly traveled by Riverboat or the lifted their riverboat over mountains or built new ones as needed along the way.
