And heading towards Castaic and Santa Clarita. With 70 mph gusts and 30 to 40 mph constant winds the fire can likely move a mile a minute like a car on a freeway towards Castaic if you have ever been around fires like this. When you see the smoke where you are it's usually time to leave if you want to live through this. Watching a fire move as fast as cars on a freeway towards you is going to make most people throw up and run to get away. I suppose if you are on Pyramid Lake your car and campers might burn up but you might survive out on the lake on an inner tube, a boat (as long as embers don't set the gasoline on your boat or your boat on fire or you). But, the problem is smoke inhalation if the smoke is near the earth. You might survive the fire and not be able to breathe in conditions like this. And this wind likely won't let up until Tuesday. So, it's theoretically possible it could burn like this all the way to the ocean if it isn't stopped soon. And after Castaic is Santa Clarita which is mostly housing subdivisions so this could be really really bad if the winds actually last until Tuesday. It could be another Paradise Fire with 10 times or more the people involved trying to survive and losing their homes.
One way to not get smoke inhalation is to put an Covid Mask on or to wet the mask to filter out all the smoke particulates from entering your lungs and preventing oxygen getting to your blood.
